One of the early graduate students, Mithat, has prepared a good page for us. I highly recommend that you  visit this page  and see probable questions, cliff notes, some poem and book analyses etc.http://daphne.palomar.edu/shakespeare/criticism.htm
A good collection of Shakespeare notes. Some other authors are included.
Luminarium.org
This site is about Medieval, Renaissance and 17. centur periods. A good site to find life of authors photos and essays.

Though it includes student essays for free, you can get some good notes by paying. Student's essays may worth looking. First search and look for free yellow, purple, blue or green papers. But it seems difficult to find even yellow papers for free.

Gutenberg Project []
Here is that famous ideal. Hundreds of books are on internet to read or print. The above link take you to the ftp site. In the files texts of the books are indexed. You click on the "by-author.html" or "by-title.html" to see the list.
www.anova.org/  []
I think the best site to find online texts of books. All most famous authors are in indexed order with their popular works. If you click on the authors name you go to Britanica.com's web site to select from where you want the information--from selected pages, from Britanica, or from some magazines.
www.bibliomania.com/  []
The most easy-to-find page here. Choose the category and see the hundreds of links. This site is also one of my favorites.
www.perseus.tufts.edu/Texts/chunk_TOC.html  []
In this site you can find all the ancient writers such as Homer, Euripides, Sophocles, Aristotle and tens of many more. In fact some links to  the names of the authors does not work yet you can find links to these writers' writings as online text books.
www.bartleby.com/  []
The Cambridge History of English and American Literature by Bartleby.com. As you read this address seems pretentious. But that is right, there are many beneficial links.
http://search.britannica.com/  []
Here is another good site. Hundreds of  famous poems are indexed by letters by Britanica.com. You just select the letter and see the list of poems that has that initial letter. Coleridge, Keats, Wordswodth, L. Byron, W. Blake, Shakespeare....
http://dewey.chs.chico.k12.ca.us/auth.html  []
